Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil Review

Hello everyone!

I am finally back with a review from this korean haul in 2013. This time it's the eyebrown pencil from the popular South Korean brand Etude House!

Let's first take some pictures of the product! I think the design is adorable ♥

The colour is brown, so I'm sorry that it looks so dark, almost black, on the pictures! I have trouble taking pictures because as soon as I am home from school it's already dark here in the wintery Scandinavia. So please forgive me that, but it really is brown!

The pencil works kind off like a duo-pencil, the browpencil in one end and a small eyebrow brush in the other. Very perfect, but not very travelsize-friendly.

Close-up for up the pencil. Quite a decent amount of product in it! (Not only what you can see ofcourse)

Close-up of eyebrow brush.

Alright, let's try the product. Sorry for the blurryness of the first picture. My naturel eyebrow is slightly lighter than my haircolour since I trim it, it's a little messy and has no shape. I don't pluck my brows anymore, because I usually conceal the extra hairs or have my eyebrows really thick.

I am a huge fan of thick, straight korean eyebrows it gives me a young and innocent look! But I am also a fan of the arched, sexy look. So I'm gonna challenge the eyebrow pencil to both!

Naturel brow:

So I hope you get the idea even though this picture is blurry. The rest is not, so don't worry. It's light, out of shape, and no way how I like it. I put lots of focus into my brows because they do a lot for a face. Never forget your brows!

Korean-inspired straight eyebrows:

Groomed and coloured in brows. It honestly looks better without the crazy flash, but as there is no sun to see it's just not possible.

Arched brow:

I do this when I want to have a party, mature or sexy look. The straight look belongs to my everyday. I groomed them upwards instead of straight and filled them in more than my naturel brows so they look thicker.

So what do I think?

Effectivity & Colour:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

It's very resistant and stays all day, but not waterproof. It's gives a lovely colour and can be build up, it can be naturel as well as dramatic. The brush is super great! It's a bit harsh but perfect for grooming your brows in place. Use hairspray or browgel if you want it to stick all day, or spring it in your purse.

Price:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦

Super cheap product! But if you use it everyday it's also soon goon, but you can easily afford it, and the quality fits the price (the quality is not super, but it's perfectly average).

Texture:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

I don't know how to describe this. It's a quite harsh product, yet it's softer than your typical drugstore eyebrow pencil. It's comfortable, and you don't have to drag it against your skin to get the colour from it.

Design/Packeging:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦

It's simple, it's duo-function, it's cute just like all Etude House-products! Would love it to have a more travel-friendly size though.

Cons:

I actually had to buy this twice, because it breaks so easily! I may have done something wrong, but each time I managed the break the pencil, it would fall out and be useless. But that's really all I can think of. 5 stars to Etude House!

That's all for this review, thanks for reading!

"No excuses"-eyeliner + BOY london cap

HELLO!

I am back, after having not had time to blog for ages! I am so sorry, I've been busy and down, put I have some time this weekend to post something, so I am taking the chance!

This time I will push the reviews aside, because I feel that recently it's all I do.

I got an idea that popped up in my head when my girlfriends started complaining about how they just can't change their everyday-looks, and I went "huh?"
Power of makeup girls! Just something as simple as different eyeliner makes a whole new person (in my opinion), and it can tone up and tone down your look, and make it new

I will be giving you, all my girlfriends, and every girl who ever thought their everyday look was boring some ideas on how to spice up your look! Here are 7 ways to do easy, fast and everyday-friendly styles of eyeliner!

Here's my eye with nothing: Very boring, small and I have the average scandinavian eye and eyeshape. Booh!

By the way, the quality of these pictures are NOT very well, but I hope you can bear with me. It was super hard to flash my eyes way up close, so I had to crop the pictures a lot. Truely sorry! ♥

Let's get on some eyeliner!

#1 "The basic line"

Pale no-mascara lashes hahah ~ This line is the basic and probably most used line. Simply just line your eyes as close to your lashes as possible! It's basic and the quickest, and opens your eyes and adds some focus and depth.

#2 Cat-eyes

Very quick as well. Super easy with an angled eyeliner brush, but hard to get even on both eyes. Takes a little practise the first times, but looks lovely on almost all eyeshapes. You can make the line smaller or longer depending on what you wear and your eyeshadow. I love this eyeliner with red tinted lips!

#3 "Lower lashes"

To spice this up even more add some colour in the "hole" between the lines! It makes your eyes big and lively, and drags a lot of attention in the daily life! Using a brush it's not hard to master.

#4 Egypt eye

Cat eye, egypt eye, arabic eye. This style has many names. It's cool and stylish, and makes your eyes deepset and gives them a boom of attention! This type changes the eyeshape the most in my opinion. It looks pretty and excotic with some red/yellow/orange eyeshadow colours as well, and it's even better for the tan people, or brown eyes!

#5 Dragged downwards

I think this is also called "tired eyes". It can give you the puppy eye effect, and can be worn very cute. Looks great with a pair of falsies applied at the end too, that will really give the puppy eyes effect!

#6 "Ulzzang"-inspired puppy eyes

This is the base-eyeliner for when I make my usual ulzzang-inspired look. It's very thick and heavy, but add some sparkle/shimmer or highlight and you quickly will make everyone go "awww". And it takes only five minutes!

#7 Winged eyeliner

Similar to the cat-eye, but instead of going upwards, it's more "straightened out". It's super everyday-friendly and adorable. Can be even more simple by making the line less thick or the wing shorter.

So that's it! Now you will not have have any excuse for showing up with the same look every single day, right? Go ahead and try something new! Whether it's your eyeliner, a new lipstick or a blush, don't look the same everyday!

Also, I just recieved my BOY london hat, so I will shortly show off/review it, because I am so happy about it!

I love BOY londons collections, and I love the brand. They make the most awesome clothing! I finally recieved my cap from Ebay, and the quality is top despite the price being so low! Inside the cap the BOY london cap is printed all over, and it's unisex size, hence a little big for my small head.

It's a simple cap with the letters "BOY" all across it, and underneath the cap, it says "GIRL". Total love! Comes in several colours, but most "famous" in black and white (this is the white version).

So are you a BOY?

Or a GIRL?

(If you ever want the pictures larger, just click on them!)

That's all for this entry. Stay tuned, pinky promise I will be more active!

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint Review x 2

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posting.
But I for once have a valid excuse other than my lazyness, because not only did I work really hard on this review - the whole weekend I fought intensevly with a virus on my pc! Not before today I got a friend to help me, so super much thank you to Steven! I owe him! But my PC is finally up and works properly again.

Now I am here with not one, but two reviews! I will be reviewing Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in the orange and red tint. You have seen my orange tint from my korean haul. I recieved my red tint too late, hence I didn't have it yet!

Let's get to the review, right?

Etude House Fresh Chery Tint in red and orange:

Orange:

(Quite obviously taken at two different times haha)

And the two babies:

Orange:

Red:

Effectivity & Colour:

Orange:✦ ✦ ✧ ✧ ✧ Red: ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

The orange works wonders, no doubt. It makes your lips pop, it's shiny and cute, and perfect for pouty lips. But the colour makes me so unsatisified. There is barely any colour at all, especially compared to the red one. Maybe it's just my naturel colour of my lips, but the colour is really sensitive. You need to bring your tint in your purse. It is not water, food, or kissing-resistant!

However, the red tint has amazing colour! Very sharp and dolly, and very resistant. Actually be a little careful, because it almost staints your skin. I showered, brushed my teeth and slept, and the day after it was still there!

Price:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦  ✧

Very cheap, but also no colour. Will not repurchase in this orange, but possible in red or another colour. A nice amount of product in the container.

Smell:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

I like it. It's a articifial candy-smell, it's quite strong, but it will fade out eventually. I like!

Texture:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

I don't know what tint is "supposed" to feel like, but I like the texture a lot. Non-sticky. Non-watery. And not thick at all. The texture is "soft" as I would describe it. Very nice to wear on the lips. It's also not as drying!

Design/Packaging:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦

Etude House - you never fail at cute packaging. Never. I even keep the packages I recieved them in, because I love the small little cherries and the pink box, it's too cute to throw away! The bottle itself has soft curves and its beautifully shaped, cute designed.

With the orange tint I created a summery naturel look, which is kinda fun and sweet, and all over innocent. It's sheer, almost nude, and fits many colours!

With the red one I made a sexy, adult look! Can you see how I go from my ordinary age to like 20+? Power of makeup!

Which one is your prefered look? Stay tuned and enjoy november!

Review: Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss Strawberry Latte

Hey ~~

Here I am with another lip-review from the korean haul, this time an Etude House review!

I'll be reviewing the Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss in Strawberry Latte (such a long name!).

Close-up:

About the product:
Etude House released a jelly gloss too, and I have yet to try it. This one is the "milky" edition, comes in several colours, and an adorable design. There's quite a big amount of product, and it's also quite cheap.

Alright, bare lips: Let's get glossy and pink! (Sorry about my bad skin)

*drumrolls* And with the lipgloss!Such full and shiny lips *_* Couldn't be bothered to edit the skin around my mouth-area as usual so... Deal with this, yo ♥

Flash-photo: I think, in this photo particulary, my lips look so dolly, full and healthy! I love this photo!

Effectivity & Colour:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

It's not very resistant. As soon as you drink, eat or even talk too much the lipgloss will disappear. But the colour is awfully cute, and really does remind me of a strawberry milkshake! I feel so much in love with the colour, it makes your lips pop, makes them bigger, makes them shine and make them cute. Reminds me of the Candydoll lipglosses from Tsubasa Masuwaka.

Price:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦

Lots of product, reasonable price. No complaints here!

Smell:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

I love the smell, but I know someone is gonna hate it. It smells just like candy, very sweet and cute scent. But it loses a star for smelling a little artificial.

Texture:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✧

I don't find this lipgloss sticky, unless you really go overboard with in. The texture is similar to the usual lipgloss, but when I swatched it, it got quite sticky, but on the lips I don't find it to be so.

Design/Packeging:

✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦

Oh lord! *_* That's the reason I even bought it hahah ~ I love the design. The bottle is slim, but beautiful and looks like glass (it is plastic). The cute design is everything to me. And the bottle is transparent too, and makes it so much better! It's a little big, so it might not be very makeupbag-friendly, but 'she' will look absolutely beatiful whereever you keep 'her'!

Cons:

I can only think of two things. The smell - which only goes for some people, because I really like it.
And that you have to bring it and reapply throughout the day, because it will 'disappear' on your lips. Other than that, I love and adore this product. Good job, Etude!

Stay tuned for next review, lovelies!

2/2 Tutorial ~ Dolly Ulzzang Look

Hello again!

This is my second ulzzang-tutorial. You can see the first tutorial "naturel ulzzang" here.

This time I am going for a more childish and cute look! The look would be awesome and fully complete with a pair of circle lenses, but my eyes cannot stand any kind of lenses.

I recommend using circle lenses for this look if you have the possibility!
The most important things about this look is having very huge eyes, and facial features that resembles a doll. Very pale porcelain skin and a petite nose and mouth is important as well, and big hair, or maybe a wig if you dare! Wear some cute pastel clothes, and you're good to go.

I have already explained what "ulzzang" means in my former post, so no need to do the explanation again. Saves both time and space!

Here is just a quick example of a naturel/mature ulzzang (left)and a dolly ulzzang (right)

This tutorial will be less detailed, because it's quite simple.
As usual we start from being bare-faced!

Yay! What a sight! (Warning: Ugly view!)

Apply BBcream all over, and dot concealer whereever needed. Apply powder in the T-zone area (forehead, nose, chin)

Eyes:

Apply a pastel-pink on your eyelid and extend the line a little. Apply black shadow underneath your eye, drag it downwards for the puppy-eye effect. Apply a bright glitter-white eyeshadow in innercorner and under the lashline, and finish off making your aegyo-sal with brown.

Drag your liquid eyeliner down following the black eyeshadow. Put on mascara on your lashes. Cut a pair 1/3 naturel lashes and glue them to the extended line. This will make your eyes look a lot bigger!

Face:

Apply pastel pink blush on the apples of your cheek (pink dots) and contour your chin and nose small as the red lines show on the picture. You do not need to highlight, but that's all up to oneself.

Lips: Lips are the same gradiant as used for the first tutorial, but with a more pink colour.

All done!
Also don't forget that it's more than okay to photoshop your pictures. Dolly ulzzangs are known to photoshop their pictures unhumanly, but adorable. So don't be jealous of their enormeos eyes or non-existing noses... It could be photoshop, it could be makeup! Final result:

Bye for now!
(If you are interested in any of the used products comment below)

1-in-2 Tutorials: Naturel & Dolly Ulzzang Looks

Hello all ~

Having a nice day yet? This time I will post 2 tutorials, so please enjoy!
Picture borrowed from Tumblr. I thought it was nice and calming ♥

First off, the two tutorials will consist of two looks: The naturel ulzzang look and the dolly ulzzang look.

Now what is ulzzang? Let's ask someone smarter than us: Google

Eoljjang (Korean: 얼짱), also spelled as Ulzzang or Uljjang, is a popular South Korean term literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking". Originally used as a slang term, this word in the English lexicon has evolved into describing a person that follows specific style of fashion.

So what makes an ulzzang "ulzzang"? The face features of course! The main feautures of an ulzzang girl (or boy) are:

- Big eyes, and they would often wear heavy eyeliner, in some cases fake lashes, and circle lenses (Coloured lenses that increases the size of your naturel eye)

-  A small straight nose

- White/pale and clear skin that's dewy (and not matte).

- A slim figure (althought this isn't your face, it's an important part of the beauty and fashion amongst them, at least from what I see.)

- V-line face. Having a "V-line" means that your face is very slim. Here is an example below. The right has almost no V-line, while the left has a very obvious V-line. The chin is very small, pointy and sharp - hence it shapes like a "V"

- Aegyo sal. Aegyo sal are also called "lying silkworms". They're very popular in SKorea. Basically it's the line that shows up under your eye when you smile. It's not like a dark circle under the eye, but honestly... It's a little bunch of fat, that' just looks cute under your eye. Here are two examples. Right has no aegyo sal, and left has.

 ¨

- Small nicely shaped lips. Ulzzang rarely have big full lips, but prefer doll-like small lips, and have a few trends for lips such as gradiant lips. Wearing gloss and lipstick with a sheer colour is also prefered more than dark and very obvious colours.

- Very naturel and beautiful hair of course. Usually not any fancy colours, but usually long hair for the girls at least. It can be curly, and straight, but it's never really too fancy. It just looks healthy and nice!

- Straight and full eyebrows. Arched eyebrows are beautiful, but they make your face look more mature. Children have straight eyebrows. If an adult has straight eyebrows too, their face will all automicly look more youthful and naturel. Straight eyebrows can be very beautiful!

Now that we know the main things about it, let's get to the tutorials. The first tutorial is the more naturel ulzzang. Just like the famous korean popstars. They're all very beautiful, but you can barely tell they are wearing makeup! They don't use circle lenses regulary. They look very naturel, sexy and they look more grown up than the dolly ulzzang. (Look inspired by the girls from SNSD)

Start off with a cleansed bare face:

Here is before:

And here is after:

Let's start!
Start off with applying a BBcream all over your face. Don't use power unless really necessary. You want your face to look dewy and fresh. Use concealer only if needed!

Eyemakeup:

Apply nude eyshadow all over your eye. Apply a not too shimmery shadow on your browbone, and a caramel-colour on your eyelid, and a darker colours on your outer crease. Let the colours be matte and naturel.

Tightline your eyes. Use a gel liner (or pencil) and line the space between your lashes to make your lashes look fuller without actually lining your eyes with eyeliner. Don't use liquid liner for this look.

Make a slight wing at the end of your eye. You don't want the cat-effect comepletely, but drag the liner upwards. I use a felt-tip eyeliner for this to make it soft and subtle and not too harsh.

Make straight "korean" eyebrows. If you are like me and have very arched eyebrows, you do not need to pluck them. Get an eyeliner brush and a naturel eyeshadow or brow-pencil and fill in your brows. Now, you have to fill the spaces outside your brows, forming the straight lines as seen on the picture. Then apply a shimmery faded white on underneath your lower lashline, and apply some mascara on your upper lashes.

Last but not least, if you don't already have aegyo-sal, you have to fake it! Do it by smiling, and find where you have to make your aegyo-sal. Then use a matte brown eyeshadow or bronzer and dap it on lightly.  Now the eye-makeup is done:

Facemakeup/Contouring:

The red lines show how and where you should contour. For a small chin and slim face, apply bronzer/eyeshadow along your  cheek and lower jaw. Apply contouring powder along the temples and close to your hairline to get a smaller overall face, and a smaller forhead. Contour down your nose for a slim nose as well! Remember: Contouring is unpermanent plastic surgery!

The white lines are highlighter, and the orange line is blish. Highlight your face for a fresh glowing look. Apply your highlighter underneath the eyes, on the nose-bridge, chin and forhead. Basically all the places where the light strikes your face first and gives it glow. Now apply an orange blush along your cheek-bones, for glowy cheeks!

Lips:

Make a very subte, simple gradiant lip. Moisterize your lips, and pat on bbcream on the edges. Use a liptint or lipstick in a red colour and dap it closest to your teeth. With your finger, blend the colour out untill it fades.

Now the look is all done! Put your hair simply. Let it stay down straight, curly, or put it in a ponytail. There are many different hairstyles and you can find lots of tutorials on youtube, or Google yourself some ideas!

Here's the result!

Whoa, this post was long! I will make the dolly ulzzang tutorial in my next post, otherwise this post will never end! See you next time! ♥
